Legal Drive

Privacy policy

Legal Drive collects the information you provide while drafting a document, such as names, addresses, and other details you enter into a form, solely to generate that document for you. If you upload your own document to sign, we store the file you upload.

Free downloads are not stored on our servers. If you create an account and generate a clean copy, the resulting document is stored privately and is accessible only to you, and to an advocate you explicitly request a review from, or to a person you invite to co-sign it.

When you use Attest (our internal signing) to sign a document, we record your name, IP address, device type, browser timezone, and, where you grant permission, your approximate location, to build the signing record shown on that document's Certificate of Completion. If you decline location access, this is captured from your IP address instead and labelled as approximate.

When you use Aadhaar eSign, the e-KYC and signing process is carried out directly through Leegality, a licensed electronic signature provider. Legal Drive receives confirmation that signing was completed and the resulting signed document, but does not itself collect or store your Aadhaar number.

If you join or manage a Business-plan team, your document activity and eSign usage are visible to the account owner for billing and credit-management purposes. If GST invoicing applies to a purchase, the business details you or the account owner provide (such as GSTIN) are included on the invoice as required for tax compliance.

We use third-party services to operate Legal Drive, including Razorpay for payment processing, Leegality for Aadhaar eSign, Brevo for transactional email, and, for AI-assisted drafting, Anthropic. Each handles the specific data needed to perform its function and does not receive more than that.

We do not sell your personal data. Information you provide is used only to operate the service, including generating documents, processing payments, and, where you opt in, routing a document for advocate review.

You may request deletion of your account and associated documents at any time by contacting us. This policy is maintained in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and will continue to be updated as the platform's features and the Act's rules evolve.
