Some may be compounded by the aggrieved party alone; others may be compounded ONLY WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE COURT. Offences not listed in that table cannot be compounded at all, however willing the parties may be. Verify that the specific offence charged is compoundable, and whether the court's permission is required, before filing this application. Where an offence is non-compoundable, the appropriate route may instead be a petition for quashing on the basis of the settlement, invoking the inherent powers of the High Court.
