DECLARATIONS 6.1 That I am giving this consent of my own free will, without any coercion, force, fraud, threat, inducement, payment, reward or undue influence from any person whatsoever. 6.2 That NO PAYMENT OR REWARD of any kind, in cash or in kind, has been received by me or promised to me in consideration of giving the child in adoption. I am fully aware that receiving or giving any such payment or reward is an offence in law. 6.3 That I have been counselled and made fully aware of the consequences of this consent, and I understand that upon adoption the child shall cease to be my child for all purposes, and shall become the child of the adoptive parent with all attendant rights, including rights of inheritance. 6.4 That I understand that this consent is IRREVOCABLE once the adoption is completed in accordance with law. 6.5 That I am of sound mind and have attained majority. 6.6 That I shall not, at any time in future, interfere in the life of the child or of the adoptive family, nor make any claim in respect of the child. 7. Depending on the circumstances, it is governed by the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 read with the Adoption Regulations made by the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), or by the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, 1956. Adoption of an orphan, abandoned or surrendered child must proceed through the statutory process involving the Child Welfare Committee, a Specialised Adoption Agency and CARA. A private arrangement outside that framework is not merely irregular — it can attract criminal liability. This affidavit records consent; it does not itself effect an adoption, and it does not substitute for the statutory process or for the order of the competent court or authority.
